Story behind the design
We were inspired by the stunning red and pink hues of the girl’s dress featured in the Pre-Raphaelite painting ‘Destiny’ by John William Waterhouse. The painting was given to the Artists War Fund, in support of British casualties of the Boer War. The girl is drinking a toast to the departing warriors, whose ships can be seen in the background.
