Digital and Equalities Ministry

2023

Copenhagen

In 2023, the Danish Economic Ministry transitioned to the Ministry of Digital Government and Gender Equality
The only requirement was the crown symbol, which we had previously designed, must be retained.

Solution:
To reflect the Ministry’s focus on equality, I redrew a font by Anja Meiners, whose approach promotes inclusivity and supports individuals with reading disabilities. This choice aligns with the Ministry's commitment to fostering equal opportunities.

A new rationale for the crown symbol was established, incorporating dots inspired by digital printing and screens. This design symbolises both the Ministry's forward-looking digital focus and the historic significance of the crown.

The primary colour for the identity combines equal parts green and blue on the RGB colour scale, subtly emphasizing the theme of equality. Though not immediately apparent, this choice reinforces the Ministry’s core values through its visual storytelling.

To further promote equality, the RGB colour palette was converted to CMYK, ensuring that the colors are consistent across both digital and print mediums.

Additionally, the primary colour was situated in the middle of the RGB scale. This allows the logo to maintain its legibility on both white and black backgrounds, demonstrating versatility and inclusivity in all applications.
